Oh, man. This is the most badass image of one of my paintings that I have ever seen. Aaaaaaahh! This makes me so deeply happy and proud. If I ever put together a book of paintings, I’m going to beg you, beg you, beg you to let me use this image in it. Jesus. Also, I took a bunch of close-ups of the under-eye bags on your portrait, because I think they’re really beautiful (I love, and tend to greatly exaggerate, the evidence of the blood beneath our fragile skins).my father sitting in my empire of boxes waiting for help to arrive to move me.
one of the few parts of me that came in the move is that amazing painting dear molly peck did for me (of me).
now when i feel too disconnected or that i’m being swallowed into country life i just try to count all the colours she has in the bags under my eyes.
it’s very soothing. like a madman’s rosary.
